Doug Lewis graduated from Northport High School in 1966 and is on record for scoring 100% on the New York State Trigonometry Regents Exam.
Upon graduation he was granted scholarships from the Syracuse University and Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy.
He was a member of the Vo-Tec National Honor Society.
While on Long Island, NY, he was a General Contractor where he completed many projects for the federally funded Historical Restoration Project along Main St. of Bay Shore, N.Y..
He also designed and built a million dollar shopping plaza in Huntington Station Long Island.

After successfully completing that project in 1982, he moved with his wife to Lake George NY where he raised two sons. In Lake George he was appointed by Mayor Robert Blaise, to the Zoning Board of Appeals. The ZBA had police authority to enforce its decisions. Lake George is located at the base of the Adirondack State Park. The next level of resolution beyond the ZBA was the Supreme Court of the State of New York. Mr. Lewis served on ZBA for over 10 years.
Mr. Lewis also served on the Board of Directors of the Lake George Chapter of Rotary International.
Besides doing local construction projects in the area, Mr. Lewis also worked as a project manager for the area's largest construction company. This company was involved in large projects, such as work at the Schenectady Nuclear Power Plant, as well as remodeling of the prestigious Hyde Museum in Glens Falls, New York, with the work based on the architectural plans done by the renowned architect, Edward Larrabee Barnes. The Hyde Museum contains original works by Rembrandt, Cézanne, Degas, Renoir, Seurat, Picasso, and Van Gogh.

While still living in Lake George, Mr. Lewis was asked to supervise installation of the pre-cast concrete components used in construction of a St. Petersburg Hospital.
He also was involved with the on-site placement of SpanCrete concrete flooring system on an high rise apartment project in Clearwater. This involved guiding in concrete coreslabs as they were lowered by crane through the eleven story steel frame.
In 1995, Mr. Lewis and his family moved to Tampa where he continued his construction career as a Florida State Certified General Contractor. During that time Mr. Lewis undertook many complex construction projects including building medical offices with X-ray Rooms.

Mr. Lewis has also done many apartment complex remodels, and fire restoration work.

Mr. Lewis' work includes new construction, as well as commercial build outs. He has provided construction solutions for numerous clients including Fed Ex, and notably, he built the Tampa Immigration Office for the Dept. of Homeland Security.
His diverse background in providing construction solutions, includes structural steel, pre-stressed concrete, wood framing, steel framing, site work, underground utilities and drainage, x-ray rooms, and data wiring.
